Generic drugs are copies of brand-name drugs that have exactly the same dosage, intended use, effects, side effects, route of administration, risks, safety, and strength as the original drug. The European Medicines Agency and the MHRA in the UK are responsible for ensuring the quality of both generic and branded medication. Purchasing a generic medication from a reputable and fully regulated pharmacist is every bit as safe as a brand-name drug.

Description

Ciprofloxacin is a type of antibiotic which is the most recommended medication to treat travellers’ diarrhoea. It is to be used for all countries except for South or South East Asia. This medication can only be used to treat diarrhoea which has been caused by a bacterial infection, and will not be effective in treating diarrhoea as a result of viral infections or parasites.

How to use

One tablet is to be taken twice daily for one day; but treatment can be continued if no improvements occur. If you forget to take your dose, you must take it as soon as you remember, however if it is almost time for your next dose, do not take the missed dose and carry on as before. A double dose must not be taken.
