Description

Vaniqa (eflornithine hydrochloride) is a prescription medication for the reduction of unwanted facial hair in women. Designed for application to the skin, Vaniqa should only be used on the face and adjacent areas under the chin of affected individuals. Results can be seen as early as 4-8 weeks when used twice a day, at least 8 hours apart. Tested in women of multiple ethnicities.

Vaniqa works by slowing down the growth of facial hair. It works during the growth stage of the hair cycle by interfering with an enzyme in the follicle necessary for the hair to grow.

How to use

Vaniqa (eflornithine hydrochloride) 13.9% is available in a 60g tube for use on the face and adjacent areas under the chin.

Vaniqa is designed for application to the face and adjacent areas under the chin. Detailed information on how to apply Vaniqa can be found in the patient information leaflet, or by contacting our Patient Support team on 0208 123 0703.

Vaniqa is applied twice daily, 8 hours apart, to areas on the face or chin with increased hair growth. Vaniqa has not been tested for use on other parts of the body and, as such, should only be used on the face.

Vaniqa takes time to work, however, improvements may be visible after 4-8 weeks depending on the individual and the severity of the condition.
